50th Engineer Port Construction Company
Organization: Prior to going to Korea the 50th Engr Co (PC) was located at Fort Worden, Washington. After receiving overseas orders the 50th Engineer company sailed for Japan where they were supposed to go to Camp McGill, but were diverted to Korea and went in with the invasion forces at Inchon on the 15th of Sep 1950. While at Inchon it was under the 2nd Engineer Special Brigade. The unit worked the port at the tidal basin, and did road work and other assigned tasks. The middle of 1951 the unit moved to Pusan and came under the 409th Engineer Brigade. While in Pusan they worked at Outport#1 building a ramp for LSTs to unload cargo and equipment. They also performed other tasks that were assigned.
